MAJOR UPDATE! Please Read!

Alright, so here's the skinny. As I've been making this book, my intentions have changed various times along the way. Originally I had set out to just do a humor strip, with short story lines. Well, this evolved into a much bigger story, which evolved into a grand epic. The problem is that along the way, this is a rough transition. Wether I always fly solo on this book, or I eventually work with a publisher, the end goal for this comic is to be printed in book form.

I realized that this comic does not have a strong beginning. I was trying to sneak a joke a day in every page, and it was chopping up the story. The whole thing has to flow.

I've realized I need to do two things. 1. Rework the current chapter, and 2. create a new chapter that formally introduces the reader to these characters and their world.

So what I'm doing is starting with this brand new, opening chapter and beginning a revitalization of the comic. The comic will now flow from page to page. I plan to include more humor, more action, more fun to the story all together. There is a greater, overarching mythology to this book, but it's not there to change the heart of what the story is, it's there to drive it along.

This being said, I'm taking about a week off to just sit down and write. I will also be working on the new site which (as it stands now) will be found at http://www.newmancomic.com . Currently that address will just send you here. I'll give you an exact date as soon as I can, but upon return, the comic will be updating FIVE days a week, Mon-Fri.

I'm really excited about this change, and I hope you all will bare with me and enjoy it too. Also, don't think of this as just a prettying up of what you have already seen, this is almost entirely all new content. I will most likely be using SOME of the pages/panels that I have already made, once I get to them, but a ton of this is going to be brand new. Even the Mountain Toad story is going to be a bit different and more solid. I really think you will enjoy this transition. "Newman" is going to be a much more solid book. Overall the story is still headed in the same direction I was going, it's just going to be a better ride. I know this may be frustrating for some of you, but I hope you will stick around and see what's new! This needed to happen, and the sooner I do it, the better.

When I launch the new site, I will set this site up as a redirect, but I will still leave access to the old pages for you all to read through if you like.

Thanks again everyone who reads this comic every week. I can't tell you how much it means to be able to share my silly stories with you all. I'm really blessed to be able to do this.

I'll keep you posted with what's happening. Until next time,
Josh

Em on the Beach

Went to the bookstore and busted out some sketches tonight, here's the first one. In the process of turning the other into a full color.

New Website!!

Well, I decided to finally go through with the new website, now with COMMENTS!! I'm pretty stoked. Now, bare in mind that there are still a lot of things to work out, as you can probably see if you click around very much. I'm going to be finishing up the redesign over the next couple weeks, at which point everything should be finished up. I still have to go through the entire archive and fix a lot of links (exciting times ahead). The Index should be functioning 100%, but if you go back in the archive, the links at the top bar will be sending you all over the place.
